Our flat is conveniently located in Badalona, inside the suburban area of Barcelona. It is 400 m far from the underground station, 800 m from the beach and 1200 m from the railway station. Barcelona airport is 45 minutes away (by train), while Girona airport is 1 hour ¼ (by bus + underground).
Our place is a good starting point to visit Barcelona and to enjoy Badalona's beach, which stretches to 5 Km. With less than 70 cents for each ride, you can buy a combined ticket and use the public transportation to enjoy Barcelona's sightseeing. From the underground station (Gorg on Line 2), you can reach the famous cathedral of Sagrada Familia in about 18 minutes.
On those days you feel too lazy to get on the underground, we recommend you to discover the centre of Badalona, a city older than Barcelona. You can just hang around Rambla del Mar or Carrer del Mar, a lively shopping area in front of the beach, or visit the City Museum with the beautiful Venus of Badalona. As an alternative, jump on the train and visit one of the colourful small villages on the coast (like Sitges, for instance) or the inland of Catalonia.
Our flat: small but complete
Our flat is on a quiet street in a popular neighbourhood and belongs to a building of only 7 other flats. It is 75 square metres and has a kitchen, a large living room, 2 bedrooms (one with double bed), an office room (where I normally work, equipped with a couple of PC's), a small terrace and a bathroom.
We moved in November 2006 and some piece of furniture will definitely change during the next months, when we finally figure out what we exactly want!
Regarding the facilities at your disposal, in the kitchen you have a microwave, an electrical oven, a bread-making machine, a mixer, etc.: everything you need to cook your best dishes. But if you don't feel like cooking, the offer in the neighbourhood is vast, ranging from pizza or döner kebab to pricey seafood restaurants.
In the living room there are several hi-fi appliances (video and DVD recorder, Digital TV, Satellite receiver, and so on). If you manage to sort out which remote belongs to which hardware, then you can enjoy all the tv, music and films you want. We also have plenty of CD's and DVD's to choose from.
